FALL Recommendations

Turf

Late October is the time for a pre-emergent application on all Bermuda lawns to help prevent unsightly winter annual weeds such as henbit and poa annua.
(Referral to turf chemical applicator.)

Fall is the time to aerate and overseed Fescue turf. Fall will bring a reduction in the number of visits you receive, as the Bermuda grass growth will begin to slow down with the cooler temperatures.

Landscaping

Fall is the ideal time to evaluate and plan for your landscaping needs. Planting trees and shrubs now enable them time to develop roots before facing the heat and drought of next summer.

Now is the time to replace summer annuals with winter annuals such as pansies, ornamental kale, etc…

Watering

Although the temperatures will be dropping, turf, trees and shrubs will still require adequate watering to thrive. One inch of water per week is the ideal. We recommend supplemental watering anytime we have 10 days without rain. Remember to follow the mandatory state-wide watering guidelines and make sure to reset your irrigation systems as required.
